This week TBP attended the Design Week Awards! Having sponsored the Identity Design award, we were thrilled when The Allotment’s White Logistics and Storage rebrand picked up the prize. They then went on to win the Best Award of the night too – fantastic! Read about how we got on here.
The next three weeks mark a turning point for brands seeking standout on shelf. Online grocer Ocado is trialling a standout concept with Birds Eye, using subtle animation to bolster standout on the ‘virtual’ shelf. Now, consumers buying Fish Fingers online will see brand mascot Clarence brought to life beside the packshot, acting in the same vein as a supermarket gondola.
This week our lunchtimes were spent sampling Fresh Bowls; a new concept from the New Covent Garden Soup Co. With a pack designed by Reach, the challenge here was to clearly communicate the dual offering and project a sense of taste and freshness – all whilst remaining true to the brand identity. We think they’ve done a soup-er job!
New-look pizza packaging courtesy of BrandOpus for Pizza Express. The aim is to marry the brand identity between restaurants and retail, resulting in the packs adopting the black and white ‘stripeology’ Pizza Express moved to during their 2011 revamp.
Sticking to the awards theme, the Grocer Gold Awards 2012 were also held this week. Asda were deemed Britain’s Favourite Supermarket, whilst Tesco picked up the prize for Greenest Retailer. Why not toast the full list of winners with a pint of Stella Artois Cidre (Alcoholic Drink Brand of the Year) by clicking here.
