This week we’re talking horsemeat, fizzy drinks and vodka. It must be Friday!
COGS OF INDUSTRY

Obesity in the UK continues to be a hot topic of discussion. In response to heavy criticism for their role in rising obesity rates, the soft drinks industry is launching a marketing campaign which the British Soft Drinks Association (BSDA) hopes will illuminate its efforts in the fight against fat. As the issue of health and lifestyle in Britain continues to fall under scrutiny, we wonder if the BSDA will manage to stop the soft drinks industry from ‘fizzling’ out?
COMMENTARY CORNER

The furore of horsemeat-gate is the inspiration behind artist Patrick Thomas’ most recent work – “Moo”. Thought-provoking and topical, the piece (which, according to the artist, ‘conceals a darker message’) is currently on show in Leicester Square underground station, and prints will soon be available to purchase at the Affordable Art Fair.
PRETTY PACKAGING

The allure of Friday night drinks is on the horizon but, in the meantime, we’re admiring Stranger & Stranger’s redesign of Hangar 1 Vodka. The stopper caps and embossed measuring gauge are inspired by apothecary of a bygone era, whilst the stripped-back aesthetic and injection of bold colour dials up modernity. Each flavour is accompanied with a story, adding a dash of charming character to the mix. Original, striking and oh so pretty!
AND FINALLY

Spin-fever has taken over and you can find us peddling with the best of them. But, with an impressive sound system, club lights and a disco ball, you may be forgiven for thinking you’ve just walked into a scene from Saturday Night Fever at Cyclebeat indoor cycling gym. Rebranded by Fivefootsix, it’s experiential branding that puts fun into fitness. Sounds good to us!
