With Halloween over, brands have set their sights on Christmas. This week, we reveal some of our favourite festive ad campaigns, as well as Kraft’s plan to modernise their portfolio in pursuit of millennials.

With Halloween down, this week retailers and brands turned their attention to Christmas, unveiling their latest festive offerings.

Each hoping for social media to turn their videos viral, competition has been fierce in recent years, creating a sense of anticipation that even rivals the Superbowl ad campaigns.

From the sentimental to the silly, here are some of our 2014 favourites…

LETTER FROM AMERICA

Kraft’s CEO this week revealed intentions to update more of the brands that have fallen out of favour with consumers.  He rejected the idea of brand maturity, and suggested success was all about ‘energetic, idea driven’ marketing: ‘When you think about it, would you have guessed that Velveeta would’ve had the five-year run it’s had in the face of millennials? It continues to delight.’

PRETTY PACKAGING

Spanish bottled water brand Aqua has opted for a ‘nostalgic, soft and elegant’ structure designed to refract the light.  The new design, along with its two-colour label also dramatically reduces the brand’s carbon footprint.
